TOPSHAM — Pauline Louise Girard, 88, of Topsham, died peacefully Sept. 2 in Brunswick.

Girard was born June 5, 1926, in Bowdoin to Ernest and Leona Raymond. She grew up in Bowdoin, attended Brunswick High School and later worked as a mill employee for Pejepscot Paper.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and spending time at the family camp in Jefferson. Family was precious to her, and her children and grandchildren have fond memories of her cooking and the warm hats and mittens she knit.

Girard was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.

Girard was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia (Girard) Weber.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Bertrand Girard, of Topsham; children, Rachel (Girard) Hanson and Peter Girard; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Sept. 8 at St. John the Baptist Church, and interment followed at St. John’s Cemetery, Brunswick.

Memorial donations may be made to the Daughters of Isabella in Brunswick.
