SOUTH PORTLAND — Paul J. “PJ” Bellino, 51, died Aug. 13 at Mercy Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Portland on June 13, 1962, a son of Anthony and Isabelle Bellino of Middleburg, Fla.

Bellino was a proud father and grandfather, a weather enthusiast and a lover of New England sports teams. He took great pride in his extensive baseball-card collection. He was extremely athletic during his years in South Portland schools.

He worked on the Portland waterfront for many years before moving to Florida to pursue a career in concrete and masonry. Bellino later moved back to the Portland area to be closer to his two daughters and his grandson, the apple of his eye.

He is predeceased by two brothers, Mark A. Bellino and James A. Bellino.

He is survived by two daughters, Jenny Lyn Cram and Ciera Bellino; a grandson, David Broche Jr.; his parents; two sisters, Susan Mavodones and her husband Michael and Darlene Walsh and her husband Peter; a brother, Anthony M. Bellino; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the many caretakers of the CCU and fifth-floor hospice unit at Mercy Hospital, including the pastoral staff.

A memorial service was held Friday at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, followed by burial at Brooklawn Memorial Park, in Portland.
