PORTLAND — Patricia M. “Pat” Farrell, 77, passed away Aug. 11, after a brief illness.

She was born on Sept. 25, 1934, a daughter of Peter and Margaret (Bernard) Gallant. She grew up in Portland, graduating from Cathedral High School. In 1958, she married William “Bill” Farrell. The two raised five children together. 

Farrell was very active, organizing senior citizen bingo at St. Pius X Church for many years, as well as being an avid bingo player herself. She also loved bowling with the “Foxy Ladies,” organizing and going on trips to casinos. Her other interests included outdoors activities including gardening, laying out in the sun, going to the lake, playing cards and babysitting for her family. 

Farrell was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Frances Brown, Bernice O’Leary and Peter Gallant.

She is survived by her husband; their five children Dawn Farrell and her partner, Debbie Randall, of Gray, Maureen Libby and her husband, Steven, of Scarborough, J.B. Farrell, of Portland, Paul Farrell and his wife, Kathy, of Standish and Bill Farrell Jr. of Portland; her grandchildren Rebecca, Scott, Brian, Nicole, Matthew, Michael, Tyler, Serena and Jacob; her great-grandson, Colby; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral was held Aug. 15 at St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Ave., Portland. Interment followed at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland.
