SCARBOROUGH — Patricia Ann “Patti” Sanford, 54, died June 23 at Maine Medical Center surrounded by family and friends after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Portland, the daughter of George Jr., and Bernadette Meserve.

After graduating from Scarborough High School, she attended Airline School in Missouri for one year.

Following school, she worked for UNUM, American Steel and most recently for Hannaford Bros. South Portland office.

She married Bruce Sanford on Nov. 24, 1973.

She supported the Scarborough Fire Department as a member of its Women’s Auxiliary Engine 1, Ladder 2, and also was a member of the Lupus Group of Maine.

She was predeceased by her father George Meserve Jr., in 2000.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Bruce Sanford of Scarborough; two children, Julie Bolduc of Scarborough and Michael Sanford of Scarborough; grandchildren, Andrew and Caleb Bolduc of Scarborough; mother Bernadette “Conley” Meserve of Scarborough; brother James and his wife Victoria Meserve of Scarborough; several cousin; nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.

Memorial services were held last weekend.

Arrangements are by Hobbs Funeral Home, 671 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough.
