SOUTH PORTLAND — The Casco Bay Bridge, which carries Route 77 traffic over the Fore River, will be closed northbound from South Portland into Portland on Wednesday, Jan. 4, from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m.
The Maine Department of Transportation on Friday said repair crews will be replacing a warning gate that was damaged in an accident on Monday, Dec. 26. The gate controls traffic when the draw bridge is up.
Neither motorists driving southbound from Portland into South Portland nor marine traffic passing under the bridge will be affected.
But northbound drivers will be directed to the Veterans Memorial Bridge during the planned two-hour project.
