PORTLAND — Repainting traffic lanes on Park Avenue will require a temporary parking ban from 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22 through 7 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24.
City spokesman Mike Murray announced the temporary ban Monday, saying it extends from the Forest Avenue intersection to Valley Street.
Vehicles will be towed, and alternate parking is available in the following places:
• Deering Oaks Park on the left side of the tennis court road only.
• The Deering Oaks parking lot off the State Street Extension.
• Fitzpatrick Stadium parking lot behind the Bill Troubh Ice Arena, accessed off Deering Avenue. The lot adjacent to the Ice Arena is not included.
Murray cautioned motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians should also expect new Park Avenue traffic patterns beginning Friday, Aug. 24.
