PORTLAND — The city’s Land Bank Commission has acquired three parcels in North Deering.
The properties, on Eleanor, Wall and Beverly streets, are adjacent to the Land Bank’s Natick Street property and include part of the old roadbed of the Portland-Lewiston Interurban Railway. The parcel also integrates with Portland Trails’ Riverton Rail Trail and includes a trail that is heavily used by residents.
A trail easement from Eleanor Street to Maggie Lane was also obtained.
The City Council must still approve the acquisition.
