BRUNSWICK — Ophelia Reatiraza, 71, of Columbia Avenue, died Oct. 31 at her residence.
She was born in Cabanatuan City, Philippines, on Feb. 24, 1943, the daughter of Jose and Marcelina Lopez Nuñez.
Ophelia came to the United States in 1964. There she met Jaime, whom she married on June 18, 1966.
She moved with her husband to a variety of duty stations during his career in the U.S. Navy; their final move was to Brunswick.
Reatiraza worked as a medical technologist at Mid Coast Hospital for 36 years.
In addition to her husband, Jaime, she is survived by a son, Lee James Reatiraza; two daughters, Jocelin Reatiraza Augustine and Joanna Reatiraza Bailey; and a brother, Joselito Nuñez.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Nov. 6 at St. Charles Borromeo Church-All Saints Parish, in Brunswick, followed by a reception. Burial was at Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, in Augusta.
Donations in Reatiraza’s memory may be made to All Saints Parish, 132 McKeen St., Brunswick, ME 04011, or one may donate blood to the American Red Cross.
