BRUNSWICK — The Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority will host an open house at its nearly completed Amtrak Downeaster layover facility on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 2-4 p.m.
Visitors will have a chance to meet with staff and tour the overnight train barn, which includes three tracks, offices, locker rooms, wash rooms, and a storage facility.
Because the public will be unable to enter the barn when it becomes fully operational in November, this will be a rare chance to tour the building. NNEPRA will begin stowing trains overnight on Nov. 21.
Visitors should arrive at 2 Turner St.
