Julia Clukey, who competed in the luge at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada, visited North Yarmouth Academy last Tuesday, April 7, as part of her 2015 Responsibility Tour. Clukey spoke to the students about the importance of setting goals, overcoming adversity and making good decisions. The presentation was made possible by the Maine Beer and Wine Distributors Association as part of their ongoing responsibility initiative and was provided at no cost to the school.

“Students make a lot of choices every day, some bigger than others, but each comes with a unique responsibility to do what they think is best,” Clukey said. “There are so many talented students in Maine and each student owns their potential. I see my presentations as an opportunity to share my story and the lessons I’ve learned that can help them best prepare for their future.”
