FREEPORT — The national retail clothing chain Old Navy will open a new outlet store at Freeport Village Station next May.

Berenson Associates, the Boston-based developer and owner of the shopping mall, announced construction has begun on the store, which is expected to be open for Memorial Day weekend in 2013.

The Freeport store will be the sixth Old Navy in Maine, with existing stores in Kittery, South Portland, Brunswick, Augusta and Bangor.
