Kargul is giving a solo performance of her recent American premiere of a long-lost work by Cesar Franck, “Souvenirs d’Aix-la-Chapelle,” along with music from select operas.

The Freeport Schools Aspirations Partnership supports community partnerships primarily through three key initiatives: a mentoring program that matches community members with RSU 5 students in grades 3-12; the Martin Luther King Day of Service where over 125 students perform community service; and the LL Bean Aspirations Grants, which funds proposals made by teachers, students and community members that raise student aspirations and inspire school-wide change.

Proceeds from the concert will directly support the mentoring program and will help purchase supplies for the numerous volunteer projects for the Martin Luther King Day of Service.

The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Freeport Performing Arts Center, 30 Holbrook St., Freeport. Tickets are $10 adult, $7 seniors, and $5 for students. For advance tickets and information, call 865-0928 ext.29.
