Chamber’s silent auction
funds area scholarships

CUMBERLAND — The Falmouth Cumberland Community Chamber is holding its first annual Silent Auction to fund scholarships for students at the Falmouth and Greely high schools.

The fundraiser will be held on Thursday, May 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Val Halla, 60 Val Halla Road Cumberland. Admission is free and open to the public.

The chamber is still accepting donations of silent auction items. Please contact Pat Stebbins Woodhouse at patricia.stebbins@bankofamerica.com or Alyssa Daniels at adaniels@cumberlandmaine.com to donate.

Falmouth PTO Spring
Fair upcoming

FALMOUTH — The annual Falmouth Elemtary PTO Spring Fair to benefit Falmouth Elementary Schools will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 8 at the Plummer-Motz and Lunt School playgrounds.

The event includes childrens games, activities, prizes, cake walk and more. Tickets will be on sale at the door for $1 for two tickets. Most games cost one ticket.

Additionally, a Kids Fun Run for students in kindergarten through fifth grade will be held at 9 a.m. Registration for the Fun Run will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 7, or on the morning of the race from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m.

In the event of rain, the fair will relocate to the Plummer-Motz and Lunt School gymnasiums.

Freeport Middle holds
yard sale for Space Camp

FREEPORT — The Freeport Middle School Space Camp is organizing its annual Great Big Huge Yard & Craft Sale on Saturday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Freeport Middle School gym.
 
Tables are available for adults to rent for $25, or for 10 percent of the seller’s proceeds. Kids tables rent for 10 percent of their proceeds.

To donate items for the yard sale, please drop off after school on Friday, April 30, from 3 to 6 p.m.  Please drop off gently used items – clothes, games, toys, sporting goods, bikes, small furniture, kitchenware. Anything that doesn’t sell will be given to Goodwill, Salvation Army and Seventh Day Mission.

Over 400 people attended the second annual Yarmouth Crew Pizza Regatta to raise money for the Yarmouth Crew Team, Maine’s only public high school crew team. Nine pizza places participated in the event, including Siano’s, Pat’s, Domino’s, Romeo’s, Richetta’s, Leonardo’s, Flatbread, Portland Pie and Papa John’s.
