Players wanted for Cumberland lacrosse league
CUMBERLAND — With spring right around the corner, Cumberland Youth Lacrosse is seeking new players for its girls and boys programs.
There will be an informational night for boys grades 3-6 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Jan. 15 and a second informational night for girls from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Jan. 16. Both sessions will be held in the Greeley Middle School Cafeteria.

Local students make dean’s list
The following students have made the dean’s list at their respective college or university:
Brittany Wilson of North Yarmouth, Harding University; Molly Strabley, Yarmouth, The Loomis Chaffee School; and Heather Sisk of Yarmouth, University of Evansville.
Cumberland students excel at mathematics competition
CUMBERLAND — Gregory Pershing and Stuart Wickard, both of Cumberland, scored the highest among Maine students in the American Mathematics Competition held in November.
Maine students ages 8-15 were eligible to participate in the competition and the Maine delegation placed eighth in the competition.
