New relationships encouraged during lunch

On Tuesday, Oct. 30, the Falmouth Middle School Civil Rights Team and Student Services Office will be sponsoring the school’s participation in the annual Mix It Up at Lunch Day. This is a national event aimed at raising awareness of social boundaries and the process of categorizing people that can lead to stereotypes and prejudice. The event encourages students to sit in a new place and get to know someone new for one day out of the year. There will be activities during lunch to encourage participation and many classrooms will have activities tied into the themes of Mix It Up Day.
