NYA Hall of Fame class named

North Yarmouth Academy will induct Eric Fenton, Mike McHugh and the 1930-31 girls’ basketball team into its Athletic Hall of Fame Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Fenton and McHugh were hockey standouts who went on to play at the University of Maine and professionally. FMI, 846-9051 or nya.org.

Falmouth Youth Basketball Association registration

Registration for coaches and players for the Falmouth Youth Basketball Association’s 2013-14 travel season will be held Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. at the Falmouth High School library. The FYBA annual meeting will follow. Registration can also be done on-line at falmouthyouthhoops.org.

Casco Bay Stripers offering free trial

The Casco Bay Stripers YMCA swim team is kicking off its season this month. The Stripers are offering a two-week free trial for anyone new wishing to check out the program. Swimmers 10-and-under practice from 4 to 5 p.m., Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Swimmers 11-13 practice from 5 to 6 p.m. on the same days, as well as 5:30-7:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays. NYA coaching openings

North Yarmouth Academy has several winter and spring coaching openings. The upper school is seeking a Nordic ski coach, a boys’ ice hockey assistant coach, a girls’ junior varsity hockey coach, JV girls’ hockey assistants, girls’ lacrosse and girls’ JV lacrosse coaches. RSU5 coaching openings

RSU5 has several coaching openings. Freeport High School is seeking Alpine ski, Nordic ski, varsity baseball, boys’ first team and girls’ first team basketball coaches. At Freeport Middle School, there are openings for Alpine and Nordic skiing, cheering, indoor track, 8th grade baseball, 8th grade girls’ lacrosse and 7th grade girls’ lacrosse.
