Good news for Casco Bay YMCA swimmers

The Casco Bay YMCA swim team recently finished fifth out of 16 teams at the state meet, posting a new team record with 1,580 points. Swimmer Travis Libsack, 18, of Freeport, was awarded a YMCA Citizen of the Year $500 scholarship. Libsack is a Freeport High honors student, who has swum in 10 championship meets. Additionally, coach Dan St. Pierre was named the Maine YMCA Coach of the Year.

McAuley lacrosse clinic upcoming

McAuley varsity coach Jo Ellen Rand and the Lions players are offering a three-week lacrosse clinic for girls in grades 3-8. The clinic will be held Sundays April 6 and 27 and Mary 4. Girls in grades 3 to 5 go from 8:30 to 10 a.m., while girls in grades 6 to 8 go from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The first 45 minutes of each session will be devoted to drills and fundamentals, with 45-minute games to follow.
