Greely football player to attend Dickinson

Greely’s Will Peck, a North Yarmouth resident, will attend and play football at Dickinson (Penn.) College this upcoming school year. Peck, who will play defensive back, is also a recipient of a Founders Scholarship, which recognizes students with strong grades in a challenging high-school curriculum who demonstrate strong leadership, service and commitment in high-school and/or community life.

Katahdin field hockey tryouts upcoming

North Yarmouth Academy has several coaching openings for the 2014-15 school year. The upper school is seeking junior varsity girls’ soccer and boys’ basketball coaches. Maine Basketball Hall of Fame golf fundraiser upcoming

The first Southern Maine golf scramble to benefit the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame will be held Monday, July 21 at the Falmouth Country Club. The scramble begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The five-man team entry fee of $625 includes two carts and an awards luncheon, scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. FMI, 504-6182 or tfmaines@comcast.net.

Freeport coaching openings

RSU5 has several coaching openings for next school year. Freeport High has vacancies for boys’ first team soccer, assistant cross country, junior varsity field hockey, JV football, boys’ first team basketball, Nordic skiing and assistants for indoor and outdoor track. The middle school is seeking Alpine skiing, cheering, 7th grade boys’ soccer, 8th grade boys’ soccer, 8th grade boys’ basketball and an assistant for football.
