Wyman third at New England golf championship

Falmouth senior Jack Wyman finished tied for third at the New England high school golf championship Tuesday in Keene, N.H. Wyman shot an even par 72.

Power Pigs runners-up in 7’s tourney

The Portland Boys U-19 rugby Club finished second at the second annual Seacoast (NH) 7’s Rugby Festival, played Saturday in Epping, N.H. Portland defeated Upper Valley N.H., 12-7, in pool play. Wing Patrick MacVane and center Tom Marcisso scored tries, while Will White kicked one conversion. In the final, Portland faced Amoskeag, N.H., the team they had beaten two weeks earlier in the 15’s League final. This time, however, Amoskeag showed too much pace and experience as they raced to a 31-7 win. Wing Barry Teng scored Portland’s only try and White again converted. FMI, powerpigrugby.org.

Maine Waves holding open practice

The Maine Waves girls’ lacrosse team will hold an open practice for its
U-17 and U-19 teams Monday, June 22 from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Preble

New, unique lacrosse camp starting up

Former Yarmouth High and college lacrosse standouts Jon and Sam Miller
are introducing the Grip and Rip Lacrosse Camp this summer. The camp is
geared toward players who want to play in college, teaching them about
the process, while honing their skills. Current college players will be
in attendance as well to step up the level of play even higher. The
camp runs from June 29 through July 7, from to 5 to 8 p.m. daily on

USM lacrosse hosting two fundraisers

The University of Southern Maine men’s lacrosse team, coming off the
first winning season in program history, is hosting a skills
clinic/competition for boys ages 6 to 18 and a boys’ high school
3-versus-3 tournament on Saturday, June 27 at the Gorham campus’
Hodgdon Field. The clinic is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $25 for
pre-registration and $30 the day of. The 3v3 tournament goes from 12:30

Yarmouth coaching openings

Yarmouth High School has coaching openings for varsity indoor track,
girls’ freshman soccer, assistant boys’ ice hockey and swimming, and
junior varsity field hockey and golf. Harrison Middle School needs

Field hockey camp upcoming

The Cougar field hockey camp, featuring individual help at all levels
and positions, offense, defense and goalkeeping, will be offered June

Mainely Stars field hockey camp taking registration

The Mainely Stars field hockey camp, for players entering grades 2 through 12, will be held July 6 through 9 at Greely High School. Directed by Greely varsity coach Kristina Lane Prescott and featuring special gues, Bowdoin coach Nicky Pearson, the camp wil provide a fun, challenging atmosphere. First annual lacrosse refereeing camp scheduled

The first annual Midcoast Lacrosse Refereeing Camp will be held July 6 through 9 at Bowdoin College. Times are 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. the first three days and 11 a.m., to 3 p.m. on July 9. Directed by Mary Parker and Sue Perkins, the camp features classroom instruction, mechanics, game tape analysis, rules clarification, extensive on-field mentoring and more.
