Legion season winding down

The American and Junior Legion postseasons are set to begin. The latest
Zone 4 standings had Cumberland (Greely) at 8-8, Yarmouth at 7-7 and Falmouth at 2-15. Only four teams make the zone
playoffs this season and the winner will be determined by the end of
the weekend. The Junior Legion standings featured Freeport Medical (Freeport) at 10-6, OA-Yarmouth Post No. 91 (Yarmouth) at 10-6, Cumberland (Greely) at 8-8 and Falmouth at 7-9. The top 10 teams make the playoffs, which
are being held this week. We’ll have more on the postseason in next
week’s edition.

Falmouth football registration ongoing

Falmouth football is holding registration for the fall, 2009 season for
players entering grades 1 through 12. Players can register at:

Falmouth coaching openings

The Falmouth School Department has several coaching openings for the 2009-2010 school year. At the middle school, a boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer and assistant football coach are needed. At the high school, a varsity girls’ hockey, varsity Nordic ski and varsity baseball, along with a varsity girls’ hockey assistant and a varsity Nordic ski assistant, are sought. Yarmouth coaching openings

Yarmouth High School has coaching openings for varsity indoor track,
girls’ freshman soccer, assistant boys’ ice hockey and swimming, and
junior varsity field hockey and golf. Harrison Middle School needs
expansion boys’ and girls’ soccer and 7th and 8th grade field hockey

North Yarmouth Academy is seeking three varsity coaches, boys’ and

Seacoast United holding tryouts

Seacoast United Maine is holding tryouts for its winter/spring teams Sunday at North Yarmouth Academy. U-9 through U-14 boys go from
9 to 11 a.m. U-15 through U-18 boys go from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Girls’
U-9 through U-14 tryout from 1 to 3 p.m. U-15 through U-18 girls go

SailMaine seeking coaches

Come join us at SailMaine this Fall to coach a group of talented high
school sailors on Casco Bay. We are looking for competent, professional
coaches to coach one of our high school teams. Teams practice together
three days a week from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. We are also looking for
assistant coaches. The season begins in mid-August and ends on Oct. 31.
