Freeport team takes part in Junior Legion playoffs

The Freeport Medical Junior Legion baseball team competed in the state tournament. After falling 8-3 to No. 5 All Sports Printing in a preliminary round game, No. 4 Freeport Medical dropped a 9-6 decision to top-ranked Deering Sunday. Monday, Freeport Medical was eliminated after a 15-9 loss to All Sports Printing.  OA-Yarmouth, seeded sixth, lost 4-0 to No. 3 Coastal Athletics in the preliminary round. Cumberland, seeded 10th, lost 6-2 to No. 7 Libby-Mitchell in the preliminary round.

Falmouth football registration ongoing

Falmouth football is holding registration for the fall, 2009 season for
players entering grades 1 through 12. Players can register at:

Falmouth coaching openings

The Falmouth School Department has several coaching openings for the
2009-2010 school year. At the middle school, a boys’ soccer, girls’
soccer and assistant football coach are needed. At the high school, a
varsity girls’ hockey, varsity Nordic ski and varsity baseball, along
with a varsity girls’ hockey assistant and a varsity Nordic ski

Yarmouth coaching openings

Yarmouth High School has coaching openings for varsity indoor track,
girls’ freshman soccer, assistant boys’ ice hockey and swimming, and
junior varsity field hockey and golf. Harrison Middle School needs
expansion boys’ and girls’ soccer and 7th and 8th grade field hockey

MCU soccer tryouts upcoming

Tryouts for the Maine Coast United soccer team will be held Sunday at
Yarmouth High School’s turf field. U-12 and U-13 boys go at 10 a.m.
U-12 and U-13 girls, along with U-14 boys go at 11:30 a.m. At 1 p.m.,
U-14 girls and U-15 and U-16 boys try out. U-15 and U-17 girls, along
with U-17 boys, go at 2:30 p.m. Tryouts for U-16 and U-18 girls are at
4 p.m. Tryouts for the U-18 boys’ team will be held Aug. 12 at 6 p.m.

SailMaine seeking coaches

Come join us at SailMaine this Fall to coach a group of talented high
school sailors on Casco Bay. We are looking for competent, professional
coaches to coach one of our high school teams. Teams practice together
three days a week from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. We are also looking for
assistant coaches. The season begins in mid-August and ends on Oct. 31.
