Locals take part at New England cross country meet

The Class B state champion Greely Rangers and an individual took part Saturday at the New England cross country championship in Manchester, Conn. The Rangers tied Amity, Conn., for ninth with 341 points. Mark McCauley (27th, finishing the 5-kilometer course in 17 minutes, 28 seconds), Logan Price (44th, 17:40), Sam Johnston (53rd, 17:49), Connor Regan (106th, 18:31) and Sam Humphries (111th, 18:33) were the scorers. Falmouth’s Tim Follo, competing as an individual, had the 74th-fastest time (17:37).

Maine Baseball Hall of Fame taking nominations

The Maine Baseball Hall of Fame, founded in 1969, is seeking nominations for its 2010 induction class. Players, coaches, umpires, organizers and benefactors from all corners of the state who have achieved prominence in, or made valuable contributions to, baseball in Maine, will be considered.

Sea Dogs pitcher offering clinic

Portland Sea Dogs pitcher Ryne Lawson will present a pitching clinic Saturday at the Falmouth Middle School gym. The 8-12 year old session goes from 6 to 7 p.m. A 13-18 year old clinic runs from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. The cost is $20. FMI, 318-6056 or matthew.rogers@ubs.com.

Casco Bay Sports presents November Sports Leagues

MPS to join Premier Developmental League

Maine Premier Soccer will join the United Soccer Leagues Premier Developmental League, the top U-23 men’s pro-amateur league in North America, for the 2010 season. As part of Maine Premier Soccer, the PDL franchise will take the field under the MPS Portland Phoenix moniker and will be coached by general manager and former Cape Cod Crusaders PDL head coach, Paul Baber.
