Falmouth Little League player evaluations upcoming

Player evaluations for the Falmouth Little League 2010 season will be held March 9, 10 and 11 at the Falmouth Middle School gym. All players ages 9-12 (except returning Majors players) are required to attend and bring sneakers and a glove. All players must pre-register at falmouthlittleleague.net, prior to evaluations. Yarmouth seeking coaches

Yarmouth High School is seeking an assistant girls’ lacrosse and a junior varsity softball coach for the spring season. Aditionally, there are openings for girls’ varsity basketball and boys’ junior varsity basketball. FMI, 846-2329.

Local gymnasts impress at regional meets

Falmouth’s Sarah Caldwell was first all-around in Level 7 at the recent Let’s Make a Deal meet in Sterling, Mass. Falmouth’s Chloe Jacquet was second all-around in Level 4. North Yarmouth’s Zoe Lambert placed second all-around in Level 5. Yarmouth’s Addie Elrick tied for third all-around in Level 4, while Hannah Elrick of Yarmouth was fifth in Level 8. At the Excalibur Cup in Virginia Beach, Yarmouth’s Anna Baker finished second in the floor and third on the beam in Level 5. The girls are members of the American Flyers Gymnastics team and train at the Maine Academy of Gymnastics in Westbrook.

Back Bay lax registration

Back Bay Lacrosse is now accepting registration for Portland area boys and girls in grades 3-8. Practices start in early April. FMI, backbaylacrosse.com.

Maine Lacrosse training new officials

The Maine Lacrosse Officials Association (MLOA) needs more officials to support boys’ lacrosse at Maine high schools, middle school and youth events and is hosting a certification course at the North Yarmouth Academy (NYA) Middle School in Yarmouth. The cost of training is $20, which is deducted from your dues when you are certified. FMI, mainelaxofficials.org.

Maine Premier Lacrosse offering 8th grade division

Maine Premier Lacrosse is offering a session for 8th grade boys who want to transition into high school programs.
