Casco Bay Sports is offering soccer, flag football, softball and dodgeball leagues this spring. A co-ed Monday night 6-on-6 soccer league starts April 12. A Thursday night league begins May 6. A Sunday 11-on-11 league begins May 2. A spring 6-on-6 flag football league starts April 11. A Sunday softball league begins May 2. A weeknight league commences May 3. Falmouth sports fundraiser dance upcoming

The fourth annual Falmouth Sports Fundraiser Dance will be held Friday from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the Italian Heritage Center in Portland, featuring the music of the Tony Boffa Band. Waynflete lacrosse clinic upcoming

Longtime Waynflete varsity lacrosse coaches Cathie Connors and Bob Johnson will conduct clinics for boys and girls in grades 3-6 during the month of May. The clinics will emphasize fundamentals and prepare young athletes for competitive play. The first clinic is May 1 from 10 to 11:30 a.m., at the Fore River Fields. Power Pigs open season with a win

The Portland Power Pigs rugby team began defense of their 2009 Maine/New Hampshire championship with a 27-0 victory over Kearsage Regional High School (N.H.) at the Cumberland Fairgrounds Saturday. Portland got two first half tries from Caleb Tracey and a conversion by flyhalf Francisco Marques to lead 12-0. Marques, prop forward Brooks Berueffy, and wing Eddie Beaulieu added second half tries to bring the final to 27-0. Portland’s next match is tentatively set for April 17 against Kimball Union Academy (N.H.).
