NYA announces inaugural Athletic Hall of Fame class

North Yarmouth Academy inducted its initial Edgar F. White ’38 Athletic Hall of Fame class Sunday. Inductees included White, whose gift allowed the school to found the Hall. White was a member of the 1938 baseball team that won the Cumberland County Conference state title. Other members of the first class included the late Lester Wile ’39 (the winning pitcher on that 1938 championship team), the 1974 football team (the last varsity squad at the school, which went 6-1), Robert “Bob” Hawkes (an educator and coach), Jon Thompson ’99 (a soccer, hockey and lacrosse standout, who went on to become an All-American men’s lacrosse player at Brown) and Krista M. Lindquist ’99 (a four-year field hockey and basketball star).

Falmouth youth football registration upcoming

Registration for Falmouth Youth Football, grades 1-6, will be held at the Falmouth High School library Tuesday, June 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. Youth coaches will be available to answer questions. FMI, falmouthfootball.com.

Cougar Field Hockey Camp upcoming

The Cougar Field Hockey Camp, featuring current college coaches and players, will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., June 28 through July 1, at Fitzpatrick Stadium. All ages and all skill levels are welcome. The cost is $200 a player, or $100 a player for a team of 10. FMI, fieldhockeyme.com.

Mainley Stars field hockey camp next month

The Mainley Stars field hockey camp, taught by the Greely High coaching staff and some players, will teach all skill levels, July 12 through 15. Times are 9 a.m. to 12 p.m for younger players and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for older athletes. The camp is held at the Greely high school field hockey field. The morning session is $90, full day is $180. Morning hockey club seeks members

The Morning Hockey Club is seeking players to round out its Tuesday morning roster. The team plays weekly at the Portland Ice Arena from 7 to 8 a.m., beginning June 15. The cost is $400. FMI, jj@nativemaineproduce.com.

Maine Elite Lacrosse offerings

Maine Elite Lacrosse has several summer offerings with open registration ongoing. There is a Wednesday night Masters 30-plus elite league, running through Aug. 11. Cross country camp upcoming

The Acadian Running Camp, co-directed by Falmouth cross country and track coach Danny Paul and U. Maine’s O.J. Logue, will be held July 25-28 in Bar Harbor for grades 8 through 13. Campers will take advantage of trails in Acadia and Bar Harbor. Cost is $200. FMI, acadianrunningcamp.com.
