Greely hockey holding food drive
The Greely hockey boosters and players are collecting food items to be donated to the Cumberland Food Pantry at the girls’ game versus St. Dom’s Wednesday at 8 p.m. and the boys’ contest against Biddeford Saturday at 6:10 p.m. Admission fees will be waived for those games in return for a bag of food items to be donated. Falmouth Little League registration open
Player registration for the 2011 season of the Falmouth Little League is open, through Feb. 28. New players must present a birth certificate for age verification. Cumberland/North Yarmouth LL registration open
Registration for Cumberland/North Yarmouth’s 2011 Little League season is open and can only be done online via credit card at cnyll.com. You’ll receive an early bird discount by registering prior to Feb. 28. Coaches are needed for all levels. Maine Elite Lacrosse registration upcoming
Maine Elite Lacrosse’s session III registration opens Feb. 1. The boys’ grades 7-8 season runs Tuesdays March 1 through April 12 at the Portland Sports Complex. Casco Bay Sports winter offerings
Casco Bay Sports has several leagues primed to start soon. A Sunday night co-ed indoor soccer league begins Jan. 30 at YourSpace in Gorham. Wednesday night co-ed softball starts Feb. 2 in Gorham. Sunday co-ed basketball begins Feb. 13 at the East End Community Center in Portland. There will also be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday night dodgeball leagues beginning in early February, a Wednesday bowling league and a new Monday co-ed volleyball league beginning in late February. Running strength program upcoming
The Nor’Easter Run winter strength program will be held Tuesdays through March 1 under the direction of Maine Running Hall of Fame-inducted coach Brian “Ziggy” Gillespie. Focus will be on distance base training and upper body strength. The program is open to males and females of any ability level.
