Play for a Cause ARL benefit upcoming

Falmouth High’s girls’ volleyball program is hosting the Play for a Cause Animal Refuge League fundraiser Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Falmouth, along with eight other teams: Biddeford, Cape Elizabeth, Gorham, Kennebunk, MDI, Scarborough, Windham and Yarmouth, will take part, playing until 4 p.m. Teams pay an entry fee , collect money or pet food, blankets or towels and all are donated. Last year, about $2,000 and 400 pounds of dry food was raised.

Katahdin holding National Festival tryouts

The Katahdin Field Hockey club is holding tryouts for its U.S. Outdoor National Field Hockey Festival team Sunday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland. Day One/Crossroads benefit golf tournament upcoming
