Falmouth moving to Class A
Pending Maine Principals’ Association approval, Falmouth’s athletic teams will take part in the Class A postseason next year in all sports except football and lacrosse. Beginning next school year, the cutoff for Class B is 704 students, which would put Falmouth in Class A. The school’s boys’ and girls’ soccer and field hockey teams are expected to be classified in Eastern A to balance the regions, while the other sports will take part in Western A. All sports will continue to play a Western Maine Conference regular season schedule. Much more to come on how this affects Falmouth, as well as other local schools.
