Track standouts named to all-state team

Several local indoor track and field standouts were recently named to the Maine Track and Cross Country Coaches’ Association Indoor Track and Field all-state team. Greely’s Kirstin Sandreuter and Gwen Sawyer were named to the girls’ first-team. Falmouth’s Jacob Buhelt and Azad Jalali and Greely’s James Ferrar made boys’ honorable mention.

Falmouth’s Bucksbaum to receive scholarship

Falmouth senior Caitlin Bucksbaum, the two-time Gatorade Maine girls’ soccer Player of the Year, will receive a $5,000 scholarship at the Maine Sports Hall of Fame’s 38th annual banquet and induction ceremony in Augusta. Bucksbaum will attend and play soccer for Villanova University next year.
