Former Greely coach named to Maine Baseball Hall of Fame

Cumberland’s Bob Anthoine, who coached Greely for 14 seasons and led the Rangers to two state championships, will be one of 11 members of the 2015 Maine Baseball Hall of Fame class. Anthoine was a standout player at Deering High School and played four seasons at the University of Maine. The 45th annual induction ceremony and banquet will be held Sunday, July 26 at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland.

RSU5 coaching openings

There are multiple coaching openings in RSU5 for the 2015-16 school year. Freeport High School is seeking coaches for boys’ varsity basketball, girls’ junior varsity soccer, girls’ first team soccer, boys’ first team soccer, boys’ first team basketball, girls’ JV basketball, girls’ first team basketball, two assistants for football and assistants for Alpine skiing and indoor track. At Freeport Middle School, there are openings for 7th grade boys’ soccer, 7th grade field hockey, boys’ basketball and football (head and assistant).
