PORTLAND — Candidates who hope to be on the November city ballot can obtain nominations papers from the city clerk’s office at City Hall, 389 Congress St.
Several seats on the City Council and School Board are on the Nov. 6 General Election ballot, along with two seats on the Peaks Island Council, and a seat on the Portland Water District Board of Trustees. The PWD seat is for a five-year term; all othes are for three years.
Nomination papers must be returned between Aug. 13 and 27. All city elections are run without party affiliations.
Write-in candidates must declare their candidacies by Sept. 7.
