YARMOUTH — Nomination papers for the June 8 municipal elections are available at the town clerk’s office at Town Hall.

There are two Town Council seats, two School Committee seats and one seat on the Water District Board of Trustees to fill. All are three-year terms.

The two seats available on the Town Council are currently held by council Chairman Mark Hough and Councilor Kent Peterson. Hough has served two consecutive three-year terms and is ineligible to run again. Peterson can serve another term, but has not taken out papers.

Town Clerk Jennifer Doten said as of Tuesday, April 13, Steve Woods of Glen Road was the only resident who has taken out nomination papers for a council seat.

The two seats available on the School Committee are held by Abigail Diggins and Art Bell. Both have taken out nomination papers, and Bell has returned them.

The Water District position is held by William Rainsborough. Since there are no term limits, he is eligible to run again, but he has not yet returned his nomination papers.
