Sally D. O’Malley, 57: Family was her biggest passion

CAPE ELIZABETH — Sally Diane O’Malley, 57, died June 11 at Maine Medical Center.

Born in Portland on Nov. 20, 1952, she was a daughter of Lewis and Lillian (Goodell) Paige, and attended Portland schools.

On Aug. 19, 1967, she married John O’Malley, who predeceased her.

For 23 years she was a dedicated employee of Cape Elizabeth Middle School until illness forced her recent retirement.

She had a great sense of humor and an indomitable spirit despite many challenging health issues.

Her biggest passion and source of joy was her family – three sons, two grandchildren, and life partner, Al.

She loved animals and bred collies, fulfilling a lifelong dream of hers.

Holidays were important to her, and her house was always filled with a noisy, happy, well-fed crowd.

She will be greatly missed by her loved ones for her loyalty, generosity and unconditional love.

Surviving are her partner, Allen Westberry of Cape Elizabeth; three sons, Richard and Leann of North Carolina, Joseph of Scarborough, and Chad of Cape Elizabeth; two grandchildren, Brooke and Derek of North Carolina; a sister, Donna Pyle of Bucksport and a brother, Robert Paige of Wells; cousins; nieces and nephews; and loving friends.

Memorial services were held earlier this week.

Arrangements are by Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland.

Condolences may be expressed to the family online at hobbsfuneralhome.com.

Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, P.O. Box 336, Westbrook, ME 04098.
