Next Step magazine names
Leeman a 'Super Teen'

BATH — Hannah Leeman, a 15-year-old sophomore at Morse High School, was recognized by Next Step magazine as a "Super Teen" for her contributions to her community through community service.

Leeman is an honors and AP student who serves on the Student Community Liaison Council, volunteers at a local hospital and an animal hospital; is a coach for a youth field hockey league and also works at the Hebrew school at her synagogue.

She was one of 10 recipients from the Northeast region to receive the award.
 

Ross named April
student of the month

TOPSHAM — Thomas Ross, an 11th grader from Topsham, was named the April Student of the Month at Mt. Ararat High School.  

Advisor Frannie Welch nominated him based on his willingness to help others and support the rights of classmates with different opinions.

The Brunswick chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently presented its DAR Good Citizen awards to students from seven area high schools. DAR member Nancy Randall Clark, far right, presented the awards to the following students, pictured from left; Olivia Ann Chance, The Hyde School; Daniel Van Note, Mt. Ararat High School; Cheslea Bruno, Brunswick High School; Mariah Vitali, Freeport High School; Kayla Harrison, Yarmouth High School; Lucyna Krzywon, Pine Tree Academy; and Kean McDermott, Morse HIgh School.
