Priscilla "Nan" Currier Hilfrank, 82: Former Falmouth Memorial Library trustee

PORTLAND — Priscilla "Nan" Currier Hilfrank, 82, died Feb. 5 at St. Joseph's Manor in Portland. 

Born March 30, 1927, in New Bedford, Mass., she was the daughter of Leila and George Currier of Colebrook, N.H.

After graduating from Northfield Mount Herman, she received a bachelor's degree in physical education from Skidmore College. 

She taught physical education at Pembroke College, now Brown University, in Providence, R.I. After she received a degree in physical therapy from Simmons College in Boston, she practiced at Carney Hospital in Boston, Westbrook Community Hospital in Westbrook and Ledgewood Manor in Windham.

Devoted to her family and many friends, she loved spending time outdoors, cross-country skiing, playing tennis, relaxing on the beach at Highland Lake and working in her flower gardens.

She was a trustee of the Falmouth Memorial Library and a member of the Falmouth Congregational Church. 

Above all, she was a wonderful mother.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Bill of Falmouth; five children and their spouses, Brenda and Robert Lavalette, Becki and Sherman Ramsey, Betsey Hilfrank, Bruce and Peggy Hilfrank, Brian and Tracy Hilfrank; seven grandchildren;, two great-grandsons; and two sisters, Ginnie Stickney and Ellie Gooch.

Memorial services were held in February.
