Town to undertake heritage project

CUMBERLAND — Cumberland and North Yarmouth have been awarded a grant for the towns to create a series of electronic presentations showcasing their history.
A meeting to introduce the public to this Maine Community Heritage project will be held at the Cumberland Town Office at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6. The project grant comes from the Maine Historical Society, in collaboration with the Maine State Library.
A dinner of soup, bread and other items will be provided. The event is free and open to the public. Those interested in attending can RSVP by calling 829-2215 or e-mailing nyhs@maine.rr.com.
