Dorothy A. Favreau Robinson, 94: Fancy stitcher, enjoyed many activities
BRUNSWICK — Dorothy A. Favreau Robinson, 94, died Jan. 31.
She was born in Brunswick Feb. 9, 1919, the daughter of Telesphore and Zepherina Schinck Favreau. She attended Brunswick schools. On Sept. 6, 1941, she married Carl D. Robinson at St. John’s Church and they celebrated over 41 years of marriage before his death Jan. 9, 1983.
She retired at the age of 62 after working most of her adult life as a fancy-stitcher at local shoe shops. After she was widowed, she made a dear friend and companion, Tony Fortin, to spend time with going out to meals, movies, bowling and making puzzles. She was an energetic, hard-working woman who loved to read, crochet or knit, garden, walk and be outdoors. She particularly loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed many years at her home on the New Meadows River in the log cabin she and her husband built. She enjoyed going on senior bus trips and walking all over with her life-long friend, Bea Dubois. Until the age of 90, she was active in the senior bowling league and enjoyed many Saturday morning breakfasts at Grand City with friends.
Her family is particularly grateful for the years of contented living, activities and wonderful care she received from all the staff at Sunnybrook Village in Brunswick.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carl; three infant children, George, Georgette and Anita; one great-grandson, Scott Robinson Jr.; two sisters, Edwina and Rhea; and five brothers, Raymond, Roland, Fernand, Rudolph and Felix.
She is survived by a son, Scott Robinson and wife Kathleen; two daughters, Ashi and husband, Vince Tango, and Mary Maloney and husband Tom Maloney; grandsons, Michael Robinson and wife Kim, Andrew Napier and wife Alicia, and Christopher Gamache and wife Kelly; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four siblings, Helen Terry, Paul Favreau and wife Rose, Leo Favreau and wife Carol and Peter Favreau; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church-All Saints Parish, 132 McKeen St., Brunswick, with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Spring interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Brunswick.
