Lee G. White, 64

YARMOUTH — Lee G. White, 64, of Yarmouth, died Aug. 31 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, with his two sons by his side.

White was born Jan. 31, 1949, in Rumford, a son of Jeanette and Ernest White. He was educated in Portland schools and graduated from Portland High School, class of 1968. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War.

White worked for the Yarmouth School Department as a custodian for more than 25 years. He was a Red Sox and Patriots fan.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Jan and Timmy White.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dianne White; his sons, Brian White and wife, Tori, and their children, Caden and Addysen, and David White and his son, Andrew; his mother, Jeanette White; his brothers, Gene White and wife, Shirley, Dale White, and wife, Nancy; his sisters, Susan White and Judy Reid; grandchildren Andrew, Caden and Addysen; and nieces and nephews.

White will be remembered as a good man who put the needs of his family first. The virtues of a hardworking man were a part of his character along with a spirit of kindness, compassion and generosity. Simply put, he was a loving man.

Visiting hours will be held 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Lindquist Funeral Home, Yarmouth. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Evergreen Cemetery, 672 Stevens Ave., Portland. 

Donations may be made in White's memory to Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, 11 Hunnewell Road, Scarborough.
