Monique D. Beaulieu, 86

BATH — Monique D. Beaulieu, 86, of Bath, formerly of Brunswick and Topsham, died Saturday.

Beaulieu was born Sept. 22, 1926, to Hormidas and Alderie Dionne in Brunswick, attended St. John’s School and graduated from Brunswick High School.

Following high school, she attended cosmetology school and became a beautician, a career that lasted until her retirement in 1994.

She married Bernard F. Beaulieu, formerly of Presque Isle, on May 3, 1952, at St. John the Baptist Church in Brunswick. A devoted mother and wife, she raised her children with her husband in Brunswick and later in Topsham.

Beaulieu was dedicated to her entire family, and had a close circle with whom she shared happy times and celebrations and also to whom she turned for support during difficult times.

She was an active member of St. John’s Parish, serving in the Sodality of Mary and the Altar Guild until her illness prevented her from participating. Over the last several years she suffered from the devastating effects of Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia. Her family finds comfort that she is now at peace.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard, her parents, her brother Romeo, sister Georgette and brother-in-law Eudore “Bill” Belanger, and great grandson Wesley Peters.

Beaulieu is survived by her children, Celeste Turner of Farmington and Blaine Beaulieu of Newport News, Va.; her grandchildren, Caitlin Turner of Farmington, Bethany Turner of Brunswick, and Laura, Ryan and Elisabeth Beaulieu of Newport News; her great-grandchildren, Elliot Peters of Brunswick, Naviyah Dodson, Jasmyn Beaulieu, and Jaiden and Jamya Wright, all of Newport News; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, Pleasant Street, Brunswick.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested those wishing to make a memorial donation in Beaulieu's name to send it to: St. John’s School, 144 Pleasant St., Brunswick, ME 04011.
