Local students art on
display at USM gallery

GORHAM — Local students from Bath and Brunswick will have artwork on display at the University of Southern Maine art department bachelor's of fine art exhibit going on now through Sunday, May 10 at USM's art gallery in Gorham.

Bath resident Marc C. McCourt will have printmaking and drawing on display and Sarah Reece will have a photography exhibit. Marie Rivard of Brunswick will have paintings on display.

Mt. Ararat Middle
School student awards

TOPSHAM — Mt. Ararat Middle School in Topsham has recognized three students for its March Student of the Month Award.

Awardees include Liam Stride, grade 6; Michaela Remis, grade 7; and Nichole Giggey, grade 8.
Students of the Month are given free admission to the next school dance and the privilege of going first in the lunch line.

Topsham Cub Scout Pack 646 recently held their annual Pinewood Derby. The winners of this year's derby, pictured from left are, Sawyer Watson, Best of Show; Daniel Seavey, 5th place; Patrick Sullivan 4th place; Mason Smith, 3rd place; Steven Schuman, 2nd place; Ethan Minchin, 1st place. The top five winners qualified to race in the district-wide Cub Scout Pinewood Derby to be held in Topsham later this year.
