HARPSWELL — A School Administrative District 75 bus carrying approximately 15 high school students collided with a car just before 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, the bus operated by Yvonne Elwell, 54, of Topsham, was making a left turn from Harpswell Islands Road onto Cundy’s Harbor Road when a 2003 Toyota Camry, operated by Rebecca Nichols, 52, of Harpswell, made a right turn and drifted across the center line.
Nichols struck the bus just behind the driver’s area, according to police. No injuries were reported and there was minimal damage.
Neither driver was charged, according to the sheriff’s office, but the crash remained under investigation.
