CUMBERLAND — With an April 27 deadline looming, no one has filed nomination papers for one available School Administrative District 51seat up for election on June 9. The School Board seat available to Cumberland residents is currently occupied by Tom Shepar.
If no one files papers, write-in candidates must declare themselves to the town prior to the election in order for votes to count. If there are no filed candidates and no declared write-ins, a School Board member will be appointed by the Town Council.
Nomination papers are due by 5 p.m. Monday at Town Hall.
