Greely's Hodgkins commits to St. Anselm

Hodgkins was also considering Bates and Stonehill, but ultimately chose St. Anselm.

"I went three weekends in a row and I was so comfortable with the girls and the coach and the campus really drew me," said Hodgkins, who plans to major in math, minor in elementary education and someday be a math teacher and field hockey coach. "It felt like the right fit. They're a growing program. I hope to contribute to that."

St. Anselm was 6-12 (4-6 in conference) this past season.

Prescott discovered early that Hodgkins had lofty goals.

"When she was in 8th grade, I saw one of her middle school games and the coach told me to keep an eye on her," Prescott said. "I talked to her and she looked me square in the eye and said, 'I'm going to play in college. You need to help me with that.'

"CeCi has been a big part of the program as a player and has been involved with the kids in the feeder program. She utilized the tools she was given and works hard all year round. I think this is a very good fit for her. St. A's hasn't had a strong program. CeCi just wants to play. She knows she's going to play. I think she'll be a huge asset to the program."

Hodgkins praised her coaches and teammates at Greely for helping her get to the next level.

"The team has been so important," she said. "That's made me love to play so much."
