Scarborough library to celebrate 25 years

SCARBOROUGH — The Scarborough Public Library will host a series of events throughout the month of September to celebrate 25 years at 48 Gorham Road.

On Saturday, Sept. 6, the Scarborough Grounds coffee shop on U.S. Route 1 will host "Library Day at Scarborough Grounds" and will donate a portion of the day's sales to the library. Scarborough Grounds will also sell a special Library Blend coffee and offer a covered thermos with a new SPL logo.

SPL will also host a free "Library Blend Cafe" from 10 a.m.-noon every Friday throughout the month, starting Sept. 12.

On Friday, Sept. 26, the library will host a concert with music from bluegrass band Tricky Britches from 6:30-8 p.m.

Throughout the month, SPL will offer free library cards to all Scarborough residents. The library is also debuting a new website in October.
