Lucille C. Ulrickson, 90

FREEPORT — Lucille C. Ulrickson, 90, formerly of Flying Point Road, Freeport, died in Gorham on Aug.11 from complications of Alzheimer's disease.

Ulrickson was born April 15, 1924, in Lewiston to Dennis J. and Elizabeth C. Davis. She was the oldest of four children and attended Lewiston schools.

On Nov. 14, 1942, she married Roy Andrew Ulrickson at Sts. Peter and Paul Basilica in Lewiston. The couple moved to Freeport, where she lived for 60 years. She was employed by The First National Store, Eastland Shoe Corp. and L.L. Bean Inc., all in Freeport. She retired from L.L. Bean in October 1986.

She loved the outdoors and could often be found working in her vegetable and flower gardens, feeding the birds, or taking a daily ride "around the loop" with her husband. Her hobbies also included playing the harmonica, spending time with her dogs and cats, knitting, hunting and fishing with her husband. She was known for her smile and for her skills as a pastry chef.

She was a member of the Thomas Means Club on Flying Point and an active member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Freeport.

Ulrickson was predeceased by her parents and her husband of 53 years.

She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Alward and Jeannette Bryer; her daughter, Elizabeth, and husband, Joseph C. MacWilliams; her son, Roy Andrew Ulrickson Jr., and wife, Christine Stevens Ulrickson; five grandchildren, Roy A. Ulrickson III, Patricia Muzikar, Peter Ulrickson, Jennifer Ettinger and Melissa MacWilliams; and six great-grandchildren, Roy Ulrickson IV, Thomas Ulrickson, Andrew Ettinger, Sarah Ettinger, Ellis Ulrickson and Sebastian Muzikar.

Visiting hours were held Aug. 18 at Lindquist Funeral Home in Yarmouth. A funeral was scheduled for the following day, with interment following at Flying Point Cemetery in Freeport.
