Outdoor track all-state team named

The Maine Track and Cross Country Coaches' Association recently named its all-state team, which included several local standouts. The girls' first-team included Cheverus' Kiera Murray and McAuley's Olivia Smith. Deering's Rashad Zagon was an honorable mention. Cheverus' Jake Dixon, Nick White Elijah Yeboah and Isaac Yeboah made the boys' first-team. Deering's Yahye Hussein and Hany Ramadan were boys' honorable mentions.

SMCC taking Hall of Fame nominations

South Maine Community College is accepting nominations through Aug. 25 for the 2014 Athletics Hall of Fame class which will be honored during a ceremony in November.
