Lucille P. Caron, 80

BRUNSWICK — Lucille P. Caron, 80, of Maple Street, died July 3 at home with her family by her side.

Caron was born in Brunswick on Nov. 26, 1933, the daughter of Cecile Brassard and Lucien Pinette. She grew up with two brothers, Lionel and Paul, and together the family often enjoyed visiting relatives in Canada.

Caron attended Brunswick schools and graduated from Brunswick High School. She was the first woman in her family to attend college, graduating in 1954 from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Portland. She then began her nursing career in the operating rooms of Bath Memorial Hospital.

On June 15, 1956, she married Albert C. Caron at St. John the Baptist Church in Brunswick. The couple adopted two children, Valerie C. Sauda, of Bangor, and Michelle “Mimi” Hendrickson, of McLean, Virginia.

Caron continued continued her nursing work within local physician practices, and concluded her career of more than 50 years as a transcriptionist with Bowdoin Medical Group.

She enjoyed camping with her family, square dancing with her friends and husband, and in later years, traveling with her friend, Henry Mosher. She forged a special bond with her grandchildren, Kayleigh, Austen, Erynne, Seth and Carolyne. The older grandchildren often visited her at camp, or watched movies at her home.

Caron is predeceased by her parents, her husband and her brother, Lionel.

She is survived by her brother, Paul Pinette; sister-in-law, Shirley, of Kingston, New Hampshire; sister-in law Ursula, and brother-in-law, Roland Pinette, of Richmond; sister-in-law, Joanne Pinette, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; daughters, Valerie and her husband, Michael Sauda, of Bangor; Michelle and her husband, Eric Hendrickson, of McLean, Virginia; her five grandchildren; two nephews, Michael Pinette and Roland Pinette; a niece, Dorothy Theriault; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on July 12 at St. John the Baptist Church-All Saints Parish in Brunswick, with interment at St. John’s Cemetery.
