A runner in a pink wig pauses near the finish line Sunday, June 22, at Bug Light Park in South Portland during the second annual Color Run 5K, "a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness and individuality," according to the for-profit company's website. Last year, The Color Run was held about 170 times in more than 30 countries. At each kilometer of the untimed race, volunteers throw colored corn starch on runners. By the end of the race, the volunteers, and their surroundings, are completely coated.
