Parades, ceremonies on tap for Memorial Day
Several Memorial Day events are scheduled throughout the region on Monday, May 26.
The Chebeague United Methodist Church, 258 North Road, will hold a Memorial Day Service at 1 p.m. Monday. Chebeague Island School students and other members of the community will be participating to honor veterans.
Several events are scheduled, beginning at 8 a.m. with a Fun Run for Kids at the Greely High School track, 303 Main St. At 8:30 a.m. the annual 5K Road Race begins near the Shell station, 296 Main St.
At 10 a.m. the annual parade begins on Main Street at the intersection of Tuttle Road and continues to the Moss Side Cemetery Monument, where a memorial ceremony will be held at 10:40 a.m.
The town will host its annual Memorial Day Parade beginning at 10 a.m. Monday at American Legion Post No. 164, 65 Depot Road. The parade proceeds to Pine Grove Park on Route 88.
It will feature performances by the Falmouth Middle School and High School bands and choruses. Refreshments will be served on the lawn of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.

The town's Memorial Day parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Freeport High School, 30 Holbrook St., turn onto Main Street and end at School Street. It will be followed by a ceremony at Bow Street Park at 10 a.m.

The Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Yarmouth High School, 286 W. Elm St., and end at the green in front of Town Hall, 200 Main St. A ceremony will be held there at 11 a.m. Yarmouth resident Randy “Doc” Simonse will be the speaker.
