Earth Day cleanups continue in Scarborough

SCARBOROUGH — Local groups will hold spring clean-ups throughout the end of April into early May in continued celebration of Earth Day.

Maine Audubon and Friends of Scarborough Marsh will partner with Project GRACE on Saturday, April 26, for the annual Scarborough Marsh cleanup. Volunteers can meet at the Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center and Nature Store on Pine Point Road at 9 a.m. and clean until noon.

Project GRACE encourages participants to bring canned goods or grocery cards to the clean-up for donation.

Those interested should contact Linda Woodard at (207) 781-2330 ext. 213 or e-mail at smac@maineaudubon.org.

On May 3 from 9 a.m.-noon, the Scarborough Land Trust will hold a spring clean-up for volunteers to remove winter trail debris. Participants are encouraged to bring work gloves and boots, and are invited to join a bag lunch afterwards at Broadturn Farm.
